ABC to air LAPD documentary

ABC will air a national documentary about the Los Angeles Police Department on Sunday, chronicling the long history of friction between law enforcement and ethnic communities.

The film, "LAPD ... Transforming The Dream," will run between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. on the ABC network.

The film featured the LAPD's new chief, Charlie Beck, talking about his commitment to continuing the reforms which have updated the force "from the bottom up."

The documentary was recently touted in a Los Angeles Times editorial as "a powerful documentary by Pierre Bagley. Well worth a look by anybody who cares about the city's history."
