Police Reform

Advancement Project has worked for police reform on many fronts. Currently, Connice Rice chairs the Blue Ribbon Rampart Review Panel, appointed by the Los Angeles Police Commission and LAPD Police Chief William J. Bratton to write the final chapter on LAPD's Rampart Police Corruption Scandal. The Panel will issue its report after the Los Angeles Mayoral Election.

Peace in the Prisons

When the heavily muscled men, with their shaved heads and tattoos, showed up at the Advancement Project's office in Downtown LA, the building's security people scrambled in high alert until they realized the destination was Connie Rice's office. The men talked of the inter-racial blood baths brewing in prisons around the country. Rice listened and took action.

Peace on the Streets

Advancement Project Co-Director Connie Rice has worked on gang truce programs in LA for almost fifteen years. This work is more urgent than ever.
